Discover Sculpture in Context art exhibits at the National Botanic Gardens in Dublin Ireland. Explore the best garden art in Ireland on annual display
Dublin is a fantastic city for art in situ (Pigs on Parade, anyone?) The National Botanic Gardens in Dublin is a fun and free diversion for a sunny afternoon.
It's a bit to the north of city centre but easily accessible on the #7 bus. We went earlier this Autumn to catch an exhibit of Sculpture in Context.
Various works of sculpture were on display both inside and out.
We explored the gardens starting with the charming Victorian greenhouses. We spotted this quirky display of sea creatures crafted from discarded plastic.
Just outside the greenhouse, we found this sculpture which made us smile.

Giant sliced eyeballs lined the path in the gardens leading towards Glasnevin Cemetery.
Flowers in brilliant hues were a sight to behold in their own right.
We spotted an adorable squirrel carrying two giant nuts as he paused for a break in his toil.
One of my favorite sculptures was this sailboat inspired creation on the pond in the park.
It was quite breezy on the day we visited and we found it quite calming to watch the flora rustle in the wind.
A small waterfall was also incredibly peaceful to watch. We could have stayed all afternoon.
