We like trying new coffee shops in Dublin. We found ourselves over near Camden Street one morning before work with a bit of time to spare and decided to sit down to breakfast at Sister Sadie, the new girl on the block.
We walked past the takeaway counter and a wide range of tempting treats. We sat down at a table in front of a spacious window with views onto the Georgian apartments across the road. The place has great atmosphere.
Two tiny but well-crafted cappuccinos were put in front of us.
I opted for the value-for-money breakfast special which included a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice...
...and a medium bowl of granola with yogurt and apple, berry, and sweet geranium compote.
We also tried the chocolate, hazelnut swirl to round out the breakfast special. When I saw 'swirl' on the menu, it sounded like something fancy and exotic. Not so... 'swirl' translates to 'cinnamon roll' in the U.S. Still, the chocolate, hazelnut version was a welcome departure from tradition.
We also opted for the winter bircher bowl which featured pomegranate seeds and cardamom. The spice of the cardamom was a bit much for me. I enjoyed a few bites but then happily left my husband to polish off the muesli which I tucked into my sweet, sweet swirl.
