We love trying new coffee places when we travel because it's a great excuse to explore different neighborhoods that we might not see otherwise. On our recent visit to San Francisco, we used this approach as a reason to stop in the Outer Sunset. We found Andytown Coffee Roasters using a combination of Google Maps and Yelp. Their website proclaims 'Irish Recipes, California Ingredients'. Given that we live in Ireland, we were definitely curious! We walked in and had a feeling this place would be special...a bit hipster, perhaps, but special. Andytown uses an old-fashioned lever espresso machine to pull the shots.Plates of savory scones (an Irish recipe for sure) with kale and sea salt (definitely California ingredients!) tempted us on the counter.
Andytown has limited seating but we managed to find a spot at the communal table near the door.
We also discovered this bright pink house with strings of pigeons sitting on the telephone wires outside. I loved this scene.
I love it when a plan comes together. This coffee stop was the perfect afternoon diversion in San Francisco.
