Let's play a game to photograph rainbow Belgium. Look for photo opportunities in different colors on a trip to Belgium.
We spent two weeks in Belgium during the Festive Season, celebrating Christmas in Bruges and Ringing in the New Year in Brussels.
I decided to get creative on the trip and invented a game for myself where I sought out photo opportunities in all the colors of the rainbow.
Check out the Belgium rainbow that I was able to create!
How to Play The Rainbow Belgium Photo Game
- Seek out and take photos of things that are predominantly red in color.
- Stick with red for half a day or so and then switch (aim to take at least 20-30 photos of red things)
- Repeat with Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet until you have photos representing all the colors of the rainbow (remember Roy G. Biv?)
- Create collages out of each color's photos using a free tool like Google Photos.
- Stitch the collages together into a rainbow!
Rainbow Belgium Variations?
Another interesting variation of the game would be to get seven friends together and assign a color to each person. It would be fascinating to compare the differences in what each of you noticed about a place simply by focusing on a single color.
Mindful Exploration Thanks to the Rainbow Belgium Game
We found that by playing the color game, we more mindfully explored the places in Belgium that we were visiting. My attention was frequently drawn to little details that I would have missed otherwise. Check out my Belgian Rainbow. I'm looking forward to doing this more often at home and on future trips as I'm quite pleased with the results.
