London - Chalk Farm and Camden Town

London is a city of distinct neighborhoods and we decided to visit one of the most colorful on our last visit.  We rode the Tube to the Chalk Farm station and walked down to Camden Town.
En route, we spotted these waif-life silhouettes on the top of a building.
I liked this sign for 'enry 'iggins haircutters.  The rain in Spain falls mainly in the plain, Liza...
We stopped at a historic stable that had been turned into a funky market.
Bronze statues decorated the place; many with a horse theme.
The market had two levels so we descended underground to check things out.
The shops were tucked into the former horse stalls -- very quaint.
More modern street art graced the wall on the way to the loo.
Camden Markets are known for their vintage clothing.
I also liked this busty Victorian mosaic statue...
...and her less colorful bronze counterpart.
You can even fill all your bean-bag needs here.
The Stables Market even has its own crest.
There were a variety of mouthwatering food stalls from every region of the globe.  We opted for falafel with spicy chili sauce.
We emerged from The Stables and into Camden Town proper.
We popped down alongside the canal to check out the Camden Locks.
It reminded me a bit of Dublin.
We emerged into another market alongside the canal where seats for those indulging in a bite to eat had been replaced by motor scooters.
Lots of fun and funky things were on offer from old school vinyl records...
...to colorful sunglasses.
Storefronts along the main street in Camden Town advertised with larger than life objects attached to the historic buildings.
We finished our walk past the Camden Market and headed into the Tube to Islington for the next part of our weekend adventure.
