We found ourselves unexpectedly in Prague this Spring. Due to a planned Aer Lingus strike, our flight to Berlin was at risk so we ended up departing a day earlier to fly to Prague instead. Our ultimate destination was Dresden and Leipzig which are halfway between Berlin and Prague so we were able to salvage the trip. Instead of looking at this detour as an inconvenience and allowing our mood to sour about the change in plans, we looked at this as an opportunity to see someplace that we wouldn't have otherwise. Admittedly, we did not have the best time during our last trip to Prague in 2009 when my Sidewalk Safari cam went missing and was assumed stolen. Again, we looked at this trip as the opportunity to give Prague a second chance. We boarded a bus from the airport and transferred onto the tram.We were whisked away to Pražského povstání station.
Lida Guesthouse was an imposing home behind a fence atop the hill.
We discovered a Czech wine bar at the bottom and were enticed inside.
The inside was filled with all sorts of curiosities like this bronze bust...
...and old musical instruments.
We moved on for a walk along the Vltava River.
Restaurace V Podskalí and popped in for dinner.
