Shoreline Park is another easily accessible walk when visiting Mountain View, California for business. I budgeted extra time in the morning and spent an hour walking around the trails. I started off near Rengstorff House which is apparently the oldest building still standing in Mountain View (built in 1867 and restored in the 1980s).It seems that 8 AM is tee time on the links at Shoreline Park. A wagon train of golf carts zipped by.
I soon arrived at the lake in Shoreline Park. Colorful boats lined the placid surface.
I spotted an American Robin in a tree...
I crested a small hill and the serene waters of San Francisco Bay appeared before me.
There were also creatures to be found in the brush, like this stalking cat.
A jack rabbit popped up his ears alert to any dangers that might be nearby.
This little squirrel greeted me as I walked past on the way back to my car.
The most awesome part though was seeing this Burrowing Owl. He rocked up, landed on this white pole, posed, and then flew off. What an amazing creature -- totally made my day!
