We love visiting New York City and try to stay in a different neighborhood each time to get a different and unique experience. Actually, our neighborhood choices are mainly driven by where we can find a decent, (relatively) affordable hotel but a side effect of this is that we get to see lots of different places in Manhattan. This time, our hotel was near Wall Street in Lower Manhattan. We took NJ Transit from the Newark Airport to Newark Penn Station and then switched to the PATH train which took us right to the World Trade Center Station. We emerged from the station into the shadow of the Freedom Tower which is nearing completion. It was an inspiring sight.New York used to be called New Amsterdam and I always think of this when I see tulips.
