We love the annual Jameson Dublin International Film Festival (#JDIFF). A wide array of locally sourced and international movies come to town over a two week period. We're always spoiled for choice. We had the chance to play paparazzi and attend the Irish premiere of 'The Stag', a movie about a metro-sexual groom-to-be and his rag tag band of friends who decide to go against tradition and host his stag party in the wilds of the Wicklow Mountains. Hilarity ensues when the bride's brother, aka 'The Machine' invites himself along.
We found 'The Stag' to be simply hilarious -- we had tears in our eyes in parts because we were laughing so hard. We were also chuffed to see all the actors afterward in a Q and A session. Here we've got Hugh O'Conor (the groom-to-be) and Peter McDonald ('The Machine').
Sadly, the marketing powers-that-be have decided to rename the movie 'The Bachelor Weekend' when it's released in the U.S.. I don't think it has nearly the same panache. I wish they hadn't sold out on the title. Regardless of the title though, this Irish comedy is definitely worth seeing. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
