I was excited to try La Sirena, a Mexican place in Malahide. That sentiment doesn't come lightly in Dublin as the city is not known for good Mexican food, particularly to a former California 'burrito snob' like me. Still, we'd heard good things about La Sirena and made the pilgrimage from Dublin City Centre on DART after work one evening to give it a try.
There were a variety of margaritas on the menu. My regular readers know that I simply love a good margie so I saw this as an auspicious start to the evening. A generous salt rim lined the glass. I would have preferred the salt to be a bit more finely ground but other than this, it was very good - tart and refreshing.
The other nice thing about visiting La Sirena was that it gave us an excuse to have a stroll around Malahide. We admired the brightly lit buildings like the Grand Hotel which was decked out for Valentines Day.
