Christmas 'tis the season for themed fairs at the RDS in Dublin. We visited the Dublin Food and Wine show on a cold November weekend.
Cooleeney Farm cheese booth chatted us up and we couldn't help but walk away with a wheel of creamy brie.
Cheeses of every flavor and color of the rainbow were being sampled by the Old Irish Creamery.
Firehouse Bakery sold delicious loaves of delicately flavored sourdough bread.
Tom Doorley the well-known Irish food critic. Turns out that Tom is the uncle of one of the guys I work with. Small world!
The Dublin Food and Wine Show was definitely fun but I fear that it won't survive another year. The event was actually quite expensive - full price was at least 20 EUR per person. Fortunately, we got a 2 for 1 offer otherwise we might have skipped it. It seems that many people opted out this year as the event was not crowded at all. I hope the organizers consider lowering the price next year in the hope that more people will turn out.
