TED Talks are always inspiring so we welcomed the opportunity to go to TEDx Dublin for a second year in a row to hear the latest local ideas worth sharing. We bought our tickets way in advance and were seated in the front row.Mabos, a space that defies convention and dreams of building a 5-story robot (more on that in my next post).
Science Gallery staff was on hand doing some really cool demos. Here we see a super-cooled and thus super-conducting ceramic levitating over a magnetic track. If the low-temperature requirements could be relaxed, there are some very implications of this technology for transportation and energy transfer.
A 3D printer was plugging away in the lobby. Examples of its creations sat nearby. I'd heard a lot about this game-changing technology but this was the first time I'd seen it in action. So cool!
Thanks to the organizers for another successful and inspiring day!
