We set off early on a Friday morning for a day of wine tasting. We followed the narrow and curious drainage system from 22 Die Laan Guest House into town.
Oom Samie Se Winkel, a popular general store in the area (no photos allowed inside). The store sold a mixture of crafts, food, and antique bric-a-brac.
We boarded the local 'hop-on, hop-off' van service so we could fully indulge and enjoy our wine tasting experience without having to worry about driving.
Our first stop was Van Ryn's Brandy Distillery.
We sipped our wine while admiringly our surroundings further, particularly this multi-media life-sized piece of art.
Inside we found an array of picnic supplies including bread, cheese, pate, and deli meats.
Bilton Wines. We took a seat on the outdoor patio.
I made a new friend at Bilton in the form of this friendly dog that took up residence under my chair.
He seemed to enjoy when I gave him a scratch behind the ears.
Alto Wine Estate. We tasted 3 wines for R10 (~$1).
It turned out to be a perfect, idyllic day out.
