What great timing! Our most recent trip to London corresponded with the London Coffee Festival. We took the tube toward Algate East station and emerged into the sunshine where we marched past a gorgeous local church.Old Truman Brewery where the event was being held.
Amisol alfajores, ProperCorn sweet and salty popcorn, and Slim Sam's Cakery also caught our eye.
Project Waterfall, which brings clean drinking water to coffee producing countries in Africa. A DJ spinning tunes at the center of the action added to the atmosphere.
Shoreditch Grind's affogato (espresso with a scoop of ice cream).
They were offering "Coffee in the Garden": a long black served with lemon, honey, and sorrel oil paired with a honey and basil meringue. The citrus added a delightfully refreshing element to the drink.
By now, we were wired from caffeine and full of sugar. We made our way to the food hall where we sampled Rola Wala's Naan Bar.
The London Coffee Festival is definitely an event we'd do again.
