For our final day in the Bay Area, we decided to take a turn to the south for some wine and waves. Our first stop was Cinnabar Winery in Saratoga where we tasted about 5 wines for $10.Santa Cruz and explored the Art Deco facades along Pacific Ave.
LuLu Carpenter's was a welcome find for coffee and pie.
We could see the famous boardwalk in the distance.
We trekked out past sumptuous homes...
- First surfer on wave has right of way
- Paddle around wave, not through it
- Hang on to your board
- Help other surfers
I liked this dead tree that was slowly being reclaimed by the surrounding bush.
Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyard was less pretentious and more fun than Cinnabar Winery.
Housed in an old warehouse, we were were able to do a generous tasting for just a few dollars. The tasting price was also refunded with purchase, a policy that we always appreciate.
This day trip reminded us that there are an array of things to do in the Bay Area outside of San Francisco itself.
