Dublin - Temple Bar Trad Fest 2013

Temple Bar Trad Fest is a highlight of the Dublin calendar.  The sound of fiddles and catchy tunes spill onto the street from the majority of pubs in the area.
We enjoyed free music at both Farringtons...
...and the Vat House.
I love getting my annual dose of tunes that are true guilty pleasures (eg: Galway Girl).  This time, Trad Fest also led to an amazing 'small world' moment.  The band at the Vat House asked if there were any Americans in the audience.  I shouted 'woo hoo' which led a couple behind us to introduce themselves. Also expats living in Dublin, we soon discovered that were both from the same town in the US.  Yer man gave me his business card on the way out and I thought the name looked familiar.  I checked with my father and it turns out that my father is neighbors with his father.  Such a small world!  We often meet Americans in Dublin but how often can you claim to meet one that lived on the same small street that you grew up on!  Pure magic...
