On my last trip to London, I commuted from the area around Victoria Station to Covent Gardens. I peeked through the bars surrounding Buckingham Palace.
The blue sky and fluffy clouds provided an uplifting backdrop to this war memorial nearby.
Check out the Royal Horse Guard. I almost didn't recognize the place...the first time I'd seen it was when we attended a beach volleyball match during the Olympics.
Walking along, I spotted a line of coats suspended in the air around Monmouth Street in Covent Gardens.
I went in for a closer look and realized that they were coats representing various trades (eg: carpenter, painter, etc).
I love the unexpected things you find when you take time to wander about an unfamiliar city.
