Sadly, our visit to
Turkey was quickly coming to a close. We returned from
Ephesus to Basmane Gar in
Izmir.
We indulged in one final fresh squeezed glass of pomegranate juice in the shadow of the
Park Hotel.
We dined on our favorites one final time -- Çorbası (lentil soup) and lamb shish.
We awoke the next morning and found ourselves in what seemed like paradise -- The
Turkish Airlines lounge in
Istanbul.
This vending machine in the boarding area gave me a chuckle. We were trying to buy a bottle of water after passing through security. We put our money in and it returned twice as much as we put in! This happened at least three times before we finally got our bottle of water. I felt like I'd somehow been transported to Las Vegas! What a great way to end our fabulous Turkish adventure!
