Total Miles in 2011 - A New Record!

I set a stretch goal for myself in 2011 to walk 1,300 miles (I walked 1200+ miles in 2010) and I managed to achieve it!

As I've reported previously, I use a few tools to keep track of the distances I walk each day:
  • Google Calendar - to remind me daily to record the distances I've walked
  • Google Maps - to plot the routes I actually walked
  • Google Docs - to create a form to input the information into a spreadsheet
I definitely felt justified at the end of December putting my feet up in Cannes to watch the sunset (more posts on this trip coming soon!).

Here are my annual stats:

In 2011, I walked:
  • 1335 miles in
  • 14 countries on
  • 2 continents

For 2012, I'm going to take a page from Leo Babauta's playbook at Zen Habits and not set a goal for myself.  I'm going to walk for sheer joy and see how far I go!  I can't wait to share my next round of walking adventures with you!  Thanks for reading...

Cheers and Happy New Year!
