Earlier this week, we managed to leave work before (gasp!) 6:00 pm. That gave us time to unwind over happy hour on the way home. We opted to stop at LaLoLa in Nob Hill. It's like a bit of Barcelona in San Francisco. LaLoLa offered $3 glasses of sangria and discounted tapas from 5:30-7 pm daily.
We tried Croquetas de la Abuela, Legumbres y Compango, and Tortilla Española. The desserts sounded too good to pass up so we capped our evening with Arroz con Leche al Caramelo. This was a carmelized rice pudding presented like a creme brulee. Outstanding!
One bit of advice -- pick your seat carefully. LaLoLa boasts views of the Powell/Mason Cable Car line and an ugly housing project. Definitely angle yourself toward the Cable Car.

We'll be back the next time we can steal away from work early.
