Today was a day of "almosts". I almost got a fantastic picture of a road sign that said "Casual Carpools - Pick-up here". I almost got a picture of some provocative text on the sidewalk outside the
City Lights Bookstore in North Beach but the bus I was on drove away too quickly. I almost got a picture of the Bay Bridge half-shrouded in fog but I forgot my camera and the fog lifted by the time I was ready to take a snap.
We'll have to settle for some "safari specimens" today instead. These are some of my favorite examples of "overkill" in the City.

San Franciscans are VERY protective of their parking spots -- "Don't even THINK of parking here!". This is a touch passive-aggressive though, don't you think?
Hmmm... I've never heard of trees getting up and walking away. Is the lock and chain really necessary?
Hilarious! I love the "One Sexy Bastard" bumper sticker gracing the window of this pick-up truck.
What does it say when the sign for the new senior living center needs to be protected on all sides by a fence AND barbed wire?
